Dutch Winter Landscape with Skaters - F. Greef (XX) - Oil on Canvas

At auction

H 77 × B 87 cm

A lively winter scene in the old Dutch tradition. Various figures populate the frozen canal, including skaters and workmen beside moored wooden boats. On the right bank, a bare winter tree and snow-covered stepped-gable houses adorn the village scene. In the background, a characteristic Dutch windmill with a raised gallery stands beneath a cloudy Dutch sky. Presented in a broad, imposing Baroque-style wooden frame with detailed carving, silver- and gold-toned accents and a classical textured border. Ready to hang!
