L 30.5 × B 11.5 × H 23.5 cm

Classic Art Deco mantel clock (c. 1920-1930) housed in a distinctive geometric wooden case. The case is crafted from solid quarter-sawn oak with a rich, dark finish. Its clean, angular lines and semicircular wooden supports at either side are characteristic of the Amsterdamse School and the Art Deco style of the early 20th century. The striking bronze dial features a beautiful geometric scale pattern, almost floral in appearance. Raised Roman numerals encircle the edge, complemented by stylised black hands. The clock has a mechanical eight-day movement with a pendulum. It is fitted with a bim-bam striking mechanism on a spiral gong, visible at the rear, producing a distinctive, warm tone on the hour and half-hour. Two winding holes on the dial accommodate the winding key: one for the going train and one for the striking train.
